Domaine de Lupec sits on a hilltop near Olargues, in the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc, in the Hérault department of Occitanie, southern France. Surrounded by forests and mountains, the estate has its own natural spring. The final stretch follows a winding road through the forest before reaching the estate, tucked away in nature.

Lupec is approximately a one-hour drive from Béziers and the Mediterranean coast. You can reach the region by car, train or plane. From the train station or airport, you’ll need a rental car to reach the estate and explore the surrounding area easily. The final part of the journey follows an adventurous forest track. An ordinary car handles it without any trouble — a low-slung sports car, a Ferrari for instance, is better left at home. Unless, of course, you’d like to donate it to us :-)

The surrounding area is ideal for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, trail running, canoeing and kayaking on the Orb and Jaur rivers, rock climbing and exploring the Gorges d’Héric. You’ll also find lakes, caves, wine-growing villages and medieval towns such as Olargues and Minerve. For day trips, Béziers, Montpellier and Carcassonne are all worth considering.

Domaine de Lupec accommodates between 1 and 20 overnight guests across five gîtes and studios. There are options for couples, small families, several families travelling together and larger groups of friends or relatives. Larger groups can also be accommodated for daytime events, subject to prior arrangement.

No, the gîtes and studios are not available for individual rental. Instead, we combine the accommodation according to your chosen option, group size and season. This allows you to enjoy time together while still having your own space.

Yes. Lupec offers plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors, swim, play and explore nature. Families can enjoy the terraces, shared facilities and surrounding countryside. The suitability of a particular accommodation depends on your family’s needs and composition.

All five accommodations and the shared facilities — including the swimming pool, natural pool, bar, terraces, pétanque court and outdoor cinema — are reserved for your group.

Yes. You can enquire about hosting a wedding, birthday celebration, family reunion or another special gathering. The entire estate is available for exclusive hire. Overnight accommodation is limited to 20 guests, while larger groups attending during the day may be possible by arrangement. Domaine de Lupec has a swimming pool — secured by an alarm — with an outdoor shower, a natural pool fed by its own spring, small waterfalls, a bar with panoramic views, a wood-fired pizza oven, a pétanque court, a fire pit and an outdoor cinema. Wi-Fi is available across the estate. The shared spaces offer plenty of opportunities to dine outdoors, relax and spend time together.

No — the beds will be made up for you before you arrive, so you can simply unpack and enjoy. Towels are also provided in the bathrooms. Do bring a large towel for the pool.

Yes, cleaning is included in the rental price. We only ask that you leave the accommodation broom-clean — we take care of the rest. That way you can spend your last day packing rather than scrubbing, and the next guests find a fresh house waiting.

The Haut-Languedoc is ideal for an active holiday. Activities in the surrounding area include hiking, mountain biking, trail running, canoeing and kayaking, rock climbing and via ferrata. Yes. Hiking routes, including Au sommet and La Salle, start directly from the estate. You can explore the surrounding countryside on foot without having to drive somewhere first.

Yes. The owners live on the estate with their dogs. They personally welcome guests on arrival and help create the warm, personal atmosphere that makes Lupec special.

No, we don't accept pets — we already have three big dogs roaming the estate, and that's plenty of barking for one domaine. They're rather bigger than you'd expect, but gentle giants who love a good cuddle. And should a wild boar ever wander up from the forest: our three guardians have been on that duty for years — the best security system the Haut-Languedoc has to offer.

The minimum stay is three nights. In low season you can also book per night, with a minimum of two nights.
