Our Story — Domaine de Lupec, Olargues
Our Story

Lupec: a family story and a refuge outside of time.

A refuge passed down, lived in and cared for with passion, at the end of a track that has to be earned.

Nestled in the hills near the village of Olargues, Lupec is a family refuge that has to be earned. Perched on a hillside and surrounded by nature, it appears "as if suspended" at the end of its adventurous track through the woods, offering an exceptional 360° panorama.

The soul of the place rests on its pure water, drawn from our own spring, which flows through the refuge to feed the natural pool and trickle down in little waterfalls towards the river.

It's a refuge passed down, lived in and cared for with passion. We live on site with our dogs, who are there to greet you warmly on arrival, but stay discreetly out of the way the rest of the time. Our dearest wish is to share this paradise in the middle of nowhere with you, to offer you the peace and quiet we ourselves have found here.

The Approach

A track that protects our secret.

The last stretch to reach Lupec is a small adventure in itself, a transition that forces you to slow down and leave the ordinary world behind. From Malvies (just next to Olargues), you cross the bridge and set off onto an "off-road" track. The path climbs, winds and narrows through the woods, to the point of making you doubt your route.

That doubt is very much part of the journey: after one final steep bend, the refuge finally reveals itself. On arrival, you discover an isolated paradise in the middle of nowhere where you'll barely meet a soul. No neighbours, no city noise — only the wind, the birds, and the changing light on the hills. It's this hidden road that makes Lupec a haven of peace you don't find by chance, and never forget.
